The Beginning
My photography journey began in 2008, one year after enlisting into the United States Marine Corps.
I remember going to the local RadioShack knowing which camera I wanted. It had to be compact due to traveling often. After talking with one of the salesmen, I had picked out the Casio Exilim EX-Z70. When the salesmen returned empty-handed, my heart sank. I asked if I could buy the demo. I wouldn't take no for an answer. Soon, they had the camera all boxed up and discounted down. NICE! I now had a camera that would help me document my journey.
The years went by, and time moved on. I knew the camera I purchased had its limits, and I was ready to upgrade. I had been reading up on the new DSLR cameras, and Canon had just come out with the entry level photographers camera - the Canon Rebel T1i with a kit lens 18-55mm, which worked out perfect for my budget.
Shortly after that, I had to start snapping away learning the exposure triangle and how to shoot in manual mode. After a few months of practice, I booked my first family portrait session which turned out beautiful. My clients were ecstatic, and I was hooked! Capturing the beauty and stories of the world around me, the ability to freeze moments in time, and create visual narratives has been an incredible source of joy and creativity in my life.
